My wife of fourteen years, Tiffany, and I have both grown up in Minnesota. We love the people of Minnesota, and we are grateful to have been so warmly welcomed in our home community of Mendota Heights.
I was raised to believe that we have to give back to our community. As such, I have been a longtime volunteer for children's causes most recently serving as the President of the Board of Directors for The Children's Safety Centers - an international model for families with children that are in transition and supervised visitation.

I will not vote for any tax or fee increase to fix the budget deficit. I could retype this a thousand times to get the point across, but I won't. Your pocket book is safe with me. It absolutely is not safe with my opponent, Jim Metzen, President of the state Senate. |

I am the only candidate to have taken the Taxpayers' Pledge to not raise taxes. I will vote in favor of policies that cut government spending to fix the budget deficit. I will author an amendment that will limit the growth of government to no more than 1% over the rate of inflation. Today, government is doubling every 10 to 12 years depending on your measurement. Under my proposal, government will have doubled every 24 years.
We are the twelfth highest taxed state in the nation. (That is only because Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty vetoed our way there.) Prior to Governor Tim Pawlwenty's election, Minnesota was the FIFTH highest taxed state in the nation.
As your next state senator, I WILL NOT RAISE YOUR TAXES.
